Doda : Sept 25

Pen Down strike of  Planning, Development & Monitoring Deptt Doda against recent SAC decision.

The Planning Development and Monitoring Deptt of District Doda has started complete pen down strike from 25 to 26th of September. The decision was arrived in a detailed meeting of officers /officials at civil secretariat followed by meetings at all District headquarters.

The decision is totally unilateral and biased wherein Finance Deptt has encroached upon the roles & responsibilities of the planning Deptt, said an officer. The officers expressed deep anguish and dismay  as to why the recent cabinet decision of BJP -PDP led Govt of empowering Planning Deptt has been over ruled in a jiffy without consulting the senior officers in the state. Pertinent to mention that Planning Deptt has always shouldered responsibilities assigned to it in most turbulent times in the state and officers of its cadre have proved their metal time and again.

The officers urged upon the Honble Governer, Advisors and Chief Secretary to immediately rollback the decision of SAC, which they call is totally unjustified, and could prove hazardous to the age old system put in place by successive Governments. The officers further informed that they  have successfully dealt the Capex budget allocations/releases over the large period of time and not a single case of graft has ever been proven in any court of law. The decision has come even when the Dept has successfully switched to Online mode of release “ BEAMS” , despite lot of difficulties.

When contacted DDC Doda regarding the strike, DDC Doda has also forwarded the memorandum submitted by the officials and also requested to GAD for issuance of necessary clerification and assuage  the grievances of PD&MD employes they have always remain backbone of the office of Deputy Commissioners.
