Hon’ble Advisors to Governor (J&K) K Vijay Kumar, IPS and Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, IAS visited Doda District to reviewed the overall scenario of development, law and order and preparedness in upcoming Panchayat Elections in the Doda District here today.
During the Visit, The Advisors Kumar and Ganai held separate meetings with District and Police officers to review the election preparedness especially for counting of Municipal polls scheduled tomorrow and for upcoming Panchayat at elections.
The meeting was attended by DDC Doda, SSP Doda, Dy Inspector General Police DKR Range, Barigadier 4 Sector RR C/O 56 APO, OSD to Hon’ble Advisors, ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, ADC Bhaderwah besides other officers from Police and Security agencies, District and Sectoral Officers attend the meeting.
District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. Anshul Garg briefed the advisors about the status of various developmental activities being undertaken in various sectors including PDD, Health, PHE, Education, Sports, Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, Road etc. He also briefed the meeting about the physical and financial achievements registered in the current fiscal till date. The Deputy Commissioner put forth various issues which need intervention of the government including release of additional funding in key areas.
Addressing the officers, the Advisors appreciated the effort of the district administration despite different kind of challenges they are facing while performing their duties. Advisors directed the concerned to ramp up the Pace of work on the ongoing projects so that the targets are achieved within stipulated timeframe.
Earlier, The Advisors held a meeting with top brass of police, Army, BSF and CRPF to discuss the overall law and order in the district. SSP Doda briefed about the overall security scenario in the area and the development in place for counting scheduled tomorrow.
Later, they met several public delegations during the visit to have first hand information about the developmental and other Elections related issues of the area.
In the meeting with the local legislators MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, MLC Chaman Lal Gupta and Other delegations. Advisors was apprised of various issues, including vacancies of doctors and medical staff augmentation of bed capacity in district hospital in Doda, augmentation of water and power supply, requirement of ambulances , construction of Doda-Kapran road, installation of street lights in the towns, completion of Indoor Stadium, completion of Medical college, Upgradation of Batote to Kishtwar Road, Circular of Road in the town, Establishment of a women’s college, starting of PG classs, convert sericulture garden into public park, shifting of sericulture garden, staff and driver quarter at Hospital, forest clearance.
Advisor assured that all the demands would be looked into and some of these have already been discussed with the governor, the spokesman said. Advisor directed the concerned departments to complete the languishing projects on priority basis. He directed the concerned officers to identity and evict encroachments to stop the menace of encroachment of forest, state and kahcharai land.
