The erstwhile Doda region, comprising mountainous districts of Doda continues to be a victim of official apathy and neglect due to poor road connectivity. One of link road Bhalara to Gurkha it is adjoining area of Bhaderwah.

In Doda region alone, number of persons had to lose their lives in road accidents owing to poor road infrastructure and neglect on the part of the state administration. Our districts have remained under-developed because of poor road connectivity. Our link road and roads are full of death traps. It is all due to government’s indifference and discriminatory attitude people are suffering without any fault. There are no crash-barriers and parapets along the link road besides poor quality work is being executed on the Link Road of Bhalara to Gurakha. There has been gross disparity regarding development in the region due to lack of funds. The poor connectivity to our Doda districts is the major reason for our economic backwardness. Number of times the estimates have been prepared and work is in progress for stabilisation of slopes to check frequent landslides, construction of drain along the road, installation of road crash barriers, identifying black spots, construction of parapets, display of necessary and cautionary road signs but no outcome seems to be in reality. After normal rains, the road would be blocked for a months.

People have expressed grave concern over the worst condition of roads in erstwhile Doda district.

So they urged the government to pay attention towards the area where almost all roads are in dilapidated condition and the roads in the area have become death trap as often the accidents take place and precious lives are being lost. Due to incessant rains that lashed the state over past many days, several vital roads in this district have developed potholes and ditches dilapidating their condition further and causing hardships to the people.

The approach roads continue to remain in worst condition ever due to apathy of the authorities. Since there has been a rapid increase in road accidents in the area hence the authorities should take immediate steps in renovation of these roads earnestly to mitigate the sufferings of common masses. The roads are in worst condition since decades and have turned accidental prone.The concerned department did not do its job honestly and condition of the road is deteriorating day by day. So they urged the concerned authorities to expedite the construction work on the road so that the people of this vast region do not suffer anymore.

Local people also said that DC Doda visit previous year in our village but till date unable do our condition. It is pertinent to mentioned here that, some days before he visited at Gurakha village for distribution of free ration where he returned back from mid of the road due to poor condition.

Another local Sanjay Manhas of village Mouth (Gurkha) mentioned that we approach many times of Ex MLA Daleep Parihar hellow promise of local residents of Bhaderwah Constituency and he doing only job of Vote bank. Village people of Gurakha suffering poor road connectvity. It’s shame for District Administration Doda and Ex MLA BJP Daleep Parihar.
