Locals of prennagar Demanding immediate replacement of wooden bridge of Premnagar

Doda : Dilapidated condition of Wooden foot bridge over Massive Chinab river in Premnagar area of district doda is posing serious risk to the lives of the thousands of Peoples

The suspension wooden bridge over chinab river was built in 1966. But its wooden flooring has not been changed since long.

The bridge has been damaged severally in different earthquakes and need immediate attention if you go down you will see most of the wooden planks supporting the bridge are decaying and need immediate repair but the government turn blind eye.

Feroz Ahmed a local said that it is the only connectivity fir the people of Dhara, Jatheli, Dongroo, Gundna, Mulwana, Pernote, Mohalla, Gulwana, etc. to provide connectivity with National Highway and if the bridge collapses thousands of villagers will get affected.

Tanveer Ahmed also said that the wooden bridge is the life line under threat of destruction. Here garbage and drainage which is moved towards the bridge is also becoming the root cause of the decomposition of the wooden bridge accident can happen any time

He added Team DRYWA cleaned both sides of the bridge many times and also submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar mohalla few years ago but the situation is same .

Locals of the said area are demanding immediate replacement of the wooden bridge or concerned department should change its wooden flooring for the sake of precious lives
