District legal Services Authority Bhaderwah in collaboration with Education department organised an awareness Programme to celebrate teachers day on the topic “Meaning and Importance of Teacher’s Day and Education and Legal Services being provided by DLSA related to Children”.
Zonal Education Officer Bhaderwah Firdous Ahmed Wani was chief guest whereas President JOB Tahir Nadeem Khan ,Social activist Rashid Chowdhary was guest of honour and Retainer lawyer Divya Kotwal , Advocate Mohd Majid Malik was resource person .Speaking on the occasion participants said teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on September 5 to mark the birthday of the country’s former President, scholar, philosopher and Bharat Ratna awardee, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was born on this day in 1888.Advocate Mohd Majid Malik said the Constitution (Eighty-sixth Amendment) Act, 2002 inserted Article 21-A in the Constitution of India to provide free and compulsory education of all children in the age group of six to fourteen years as a Fundamental Right in such a manner as the State may, by law, determine. The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, which represents the consequential legislation envisaged under Article 21-A, means that every child has a right to full time elementary education of satisfactory and equitable quality in a formal school which satisfies certain essential norms and standards, he informed . At the end, ZEO Bhaderwah was felicitated by the participants with memento and teachers Mohd Ayoub , Meena Kumarai , Yasir Hussain and other also spoke on the occasion .
