“My Town My Pride” begins at Thathri; Public submits various grievances
Defunct Street Lights, Unstable System of Various Departments, other major issues raised in My Town My Pride at Thathri

Thathri, 19 October: After Back to Village programme which was meant for the villages now government had started similar programme for towns with a name "My Town, My Pride". This program was at Thathri, which is a small town in Doda district started on Monday and Director Horticulture, Planning and Marketing Imam Din KAS was the visiting officer in this program and SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar, SHO Thathri Javid Iqbal and other senior officers of various departments were also present.
Thathri is one of the smallest town in Jammu and Kashmir but as per various demands in this and previous programs, it is highly discriminated town and a sub division in J&K. Despite of being sub division, this town do not possess any Govt Higher Secondary School, proper College building, Bus Adda (Bus Stand) or any kind of private or public vehicle parking and the various other genuine demands which were raised by the councilors and people which also includes Sub Divisions of various departments is linked to Kishtwar district. However, Thathri is a central place of number of tehsils and located in the centre of twins districts and National Highway 244 passed between town but the system of departments is totally defunct and unstable.
Meanwhile, various councilors also provided various solutions on various major issues. The initial speech was given by Zulfikar Ali Malik Sanitary Inspector and Nodal Officer My Town My Pride at Thathri, later followed by Asgar Khanday, Councilor Ward No. 2, Abdul Majid Butt Senior PDP leader, Bilal Ahmed President Mazdor Union, Basant Raj Thakur BJP Leader, Mansoor Ahmed Bhatt Chairman Municipal Committee Thathri, Mohd Saleem civilian and Mansoor Ahmed Social Worker. The conclusion of the demands have various common demands which includes Defunct Street Lights, Bus Stand, College Building and worst Drainage system alongwith National Highway 244 in the town and unstable system of various departments in sub division Thathri. The unstable system of various departments in which various departments’ divisional office is located at Kishtwar district including JKPDCL, PHE (Jal Shakti), Irrigation and Flood Control, E.O Town etc.
On the spot various grievances were redressed and solutions were assured by the visiting officer. This program will continue for second day and all officers were told to give awareness speeches to the public on Tuesday.
