Meet Badshah Khan, A Wrestler from J-K’s Ramban, Preparing For International Wrestling Platform WWE
Badshah Khan, a wrestler hails from Neel area of Ramban district in Chenab Valley, currently wrestling in Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE)—an Indian professional wrestling promotion and training academy which is owned by professional wrestler The Great Khali.
Who is Badshah Khan?
Arif Saleem Bohru alias Badshah Khan is an Indian professional wrestler who belongs to Jammu & Kashmir’s Ramban district.
Arif was born in a Kashmiri middle class Family and he is the son of Mohd Saleem Bohru. He was his father who inspired him by telling him stories about the Great Khali, these stories were about his struggle, hardship and comforts the purpose of these stories which his father try to portray in the eyes of the little Arif when he was only 8 years and that the life is not always about difficulties it is about beautiful comforts too and Arif understood it very well that nothing is gained in life without hard work. It was the beginning of an ordinary boy Arif Saleem turning into a tough beast Badshah Khan.
According to a conversation with Chenab Times, Arif said, “From the earlier, I struggled alot to full fill my basic needs and I started working on less wages at the very young age to manage with our financial crises, but the intrest for Wrestling was rising inside my heart. My interest in wrestling, became an important part of my life, when I saw The Great Khali in ring, I got inspired. I spent my initial days attending small wrestling competitions, when my confidence level increased, I started training with the professional wrestlers and won various wrestling competitions.”
Arif was 20-year-old when he joined the CWE, an academy of the Great Khali. He had a great passion for learning wrestling from the Great Khali. But everyone has to wait a long time for the best thing to happen. He spent his initial days under certain trainer and attended small wrestling competitions. When he performed very well his confidence level boosted up he started training with the professional wrestlers under the supervision of The Great Khali and won various wrestling competitions.
“I consider this time among the best time of my life, it was the time when I was entitled with the name Badshah Khan by my inspiration The Great Khali for my performance,” Arif said.
Today Badshah Khan is considered as a toughest wrestler in the CWE. He is the first wrestler from J&K in CWE. But unfortunately as the Chenab Valley lacks basics facilities and there are no facilities for his training, so Arif rarely visit his hometown and it has been more than two years, Arif didn’t saw his mother.
“I am not able to go home on Eid or on any other occasions as my training suffers,” he said.
Arif Saleem is dedicated towards his wrestling. He has worked very hard to reach there where he is today. His journey from Arif Saleem to get tittled with the name Badshah Khan which The Great Khali himself gave him was full of struggle and hardship. Now Arif has become very famous on social media. His fighting videos have gone viral, his videos has set the social media in J&K especially on fire. His fan following has grown rapidly on Instagram, where he constantly shares his pictures and videos of wrestling events. He has also become an inspiration among the youth.(CT)
