District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah today organized a function to observe International Women’s Day here at District Court Complex.The function was presided over by the Chairman DLSA, Principal and Session Judge, Bhaderwah , Ashok Kumar Shavan.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLSA highlighted the role and contribution of women in various fields of life. He said that women have attained immense success in various fields particularly sports, politics and academics.In today’s world, the role of women has changed significantly as they are now self-sufficient, well aware and financially independent, he added and said the principle of gender equality is enshrined in the Indian Constitution in its Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties and Directive Principles. Sub Judge Bhaderwah Reenu Dogra Gupta , Munsiff Sandeep Sen , Member Secretary DLSA Susheel Singh and Mobile Magistrate Munish Manhas also highlighted the rights of women and said Articles 14, 15, 15(3), 16, 39(a), 39(b), 39(c) and 42 of the Constitution are of specific importance in this regard. Advocate Divya Kotwal, Advocate Mohd Majid Malik ,Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
