The Mendhar Gunners under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division organized the Annual Sports Meet 2021 at Upper Darana Government School (at Upper Darana Villiage) Mendhar (J & K). The event was organized in close co-ordination & support from the school & civil administration. The Annual sports meet was conducted with an aim to give a platform to the children to showcase their talent & capabilities. The Mendhar Gunners provided all possible assistance to the school to incl, the preparation of volleyball court & kho-kho ground & sports infrastructure for the smooth conduct of the event. The students of various age groups participated in the events with great zeal and fervor. The day was sequenced with sports events like volleyball & kho-kho in which participating teams show cased their talent, teamspirit, vigor and sportsmanship.
The Commanding Officer appreciated the ‘Josh’ of the children & facilitated both the winners and runners up team with prizes and a cash prize of Rs 2500 each to the winners of kho-kho & volleyball. The Commanding Officer emphasized upon the importance of sports & games in our lives & its role in moulding our personalities. The school & the civil administration conveyed their sincere appreciation to the Indian Army & Mendhar Gunners for the conduct of the event.
