Malala criticized for her recent statement on marriage

Malala, the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, has sparked debate. She recently told Vogue that she still doesn’t understand why people have to get married..

Muslim intellectuals and scholars have been outspoken in their condemnation of the statement. Aaqib Anjum Aafi, a biographical researcher and scholar, stated:

ghairoN se kaha tumne, ghairoN se suna tum ne

kuchh ham se kaha hota kuchh ham se suna hota

English tr: you heard of the strangers, you discussed with the strangers

had you talked with us, had you heard from us.

Meanwhile, Mufti Yasir Nadeem, an Islamic scholar and Darul Uloom Deoband graduate who teaches at the Institute of Islamic Education in Illinois, criticised Malala and said she made statement that apostates do.

Shameela, who tweets under the handle shaikhshameela, stated, “Marriage gives your child share in the inheritance of parents/ancestral property.”
It establishes family system to care for children and elderly parents.
Marriage defines all of the relationships in which each member of the family bears responsibility.
Marriage is more beneficial than partnership.”
