According to authorities, one militant was killed in an ongoing battle between militants and security personnel in the Naugam district of Srinagar’s outskirts late Tuesday night.
An encounter between militants and security personnel broke out in Naugam’s Wagoora neighbourhood, according to an official.
According to him, a joint team of police, army, and CRPF began a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area after receiving specific information regarding the presence of militants.
According to him, as the joint team of soldiers approached the suspected location, the concealed militants fired against them, prompting a retaliation, resulting in an engagement. While the operation is ongoing in the region, one militant has been killed, according to the official.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police in a Tweet said: “#Encounter has started at Wagoora, Naugam area of #Srinagar. Two #terrorists trapped. Security forces on job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice.”
