One died, three injured after Pillar of Bridge collapsed in Kishtwar’s Yaniewan village

A labourer died while three other labourers were injured after a pillar of a bridge collapsed near the bank of the river Maru Sudar at Yaniewan Tunder in the Kishtwar district.

One labourer, identified as Shabir Ahmed (son of Ghulam Qadir, resident of Drubeel tehsil Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar district), was reported missing (later found dead) and three others were injured during bridge construction at Yaniewan for people of Tunder village in Dachhan area in Kishtwar district when a pillar suddenly collapsed, according to an official.

Three other injured laborers were identified as Zubair Ahmed (Age 19), son of Shabir Ahmed, Ab. Rehman (Age 32), son of Gh. Rather, and Farooq Ahmed (Age 37), son of Gh. Mohiudin Rather, all of whom live in Kewath Drubeel Chatroo in Teshil Mughal Maidan in the district of Kishtwar.

Police post Dangduru, SOG party Pinjrari along with locals started a rescue operation to dig out the missing labourer. And after lots of effort, the missing labourer’s dead body was recovered from the spot and shifted to the District Hospital in Kishtwar.
