Unscheduled power cuts in Jammu: Govt appoints Shaleen Kabra as Enquiry Officer to fix responsibility

Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday appointed Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Shaleen Kabra as enquiry officer to investigate into the frequent and erratic power cuts in Jammu region.

The appointment of Kabra comes a day after the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha assured the people of Jammu in a high-level meeting that a committee will be constituted by the Chief Secretary to enquire into the frequent erratic power cuts in Jammu region.

An order issued by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, under number 526-JK(GAD) of 2021, dated 17-06-2021, reads that “Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department is hereby appointed as Enquiry Officer to enquire into the issue of frequent and erratic power cuts in Jammu region and fix responsibility thereof. He may co-opt any officer for conduct of the enquiry.”

“The Enquiry officer shall submit his report within a week’s time to the Government,” the order reads.
