Srinagar teen’s body has been recovered from the Sindh River near Kangan Ganderbal

The body of a 19-year-old Srinagar teen who drowned in the Sindh River near Rayil Kangan last evening has been recovered, officials said on Tuesday.

They claimed that the body of the young man was discovered at Fraw Haknar, a short distance from where he drowned.

Police and administration, aided by locals, had launched a massive search for the youth.

While confirming that the teenager, Salim Khan (19), of 90-feet road Pandach Srinagar, drowned in the river last evening, the police said that the circumstances leading up to the incident were still unclear and were being investigated.

“As of now, we don’t know whether he drowned while taking a bath or died for another reason. It is being looked into,” said SSP Ganderbal Suhail Munawar Mir.
