Kashmir: Sopore youth found dead at hostel in Chandigarh, family alleges murder

On the night of June 25-26, a 22-year-old youth from the Bomai area of Sopore was discovered dead in a hostel in GMC Chandigarh, Punjab, under mysterious circumstances, according to his family.

Amir Hassan Mir, a BSc Nursing student who was doing an internship at GMC Chandigarh, was found dead at his hostel, according to the news agency Kashmir News Observer.

His family claimed he was murdered, claiming that Amir was discovered dead in his apartment by one of his coworkers around 1 a.m. on June 25, after which he informed his family.

According to them, the body was taken for a post-mortem and other legal formalities before being handed over to legal heirs.

Nazir Ahmad, Amir’s cousin, told KNO that they believe it was a murder because two people who had graduated from college two years ago were present during the incident.

The family demanded that the incident be thoroughly investigated.
