Two people from Uttar Pradesh died in a road accident in Kathua district’s Logate Morh on Thursday afternoon, while seven others were injured.
Officials told news agency the Kashmir News Observer that a vehicle collided with a highway divider at Logate Morh, injuring nine people.
One of the nine passengers was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, according to the official, while another succumbed to injuries while being treated.
Idresh (61) son of Mohammad Sharif and Shaad son of Mohamad Sarfaraz, both of Uttar Pardesh, have been identified as the deceased.
Seven other passengers received first aid at Kathua GMC, he said, with four of them being referred to GMC Jammu later.
Meanwhile, the matter has been reported to the police.
