On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir police booked a member of the JK Apni party’s district development council (DDC) from Arin constituency for assaulting a revenue official in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
According to the Kashmir-based news agency Kashmir News Observer, a team of revenue officials, including assistant commissioner revenue Bandipora, Parvaiz Rahim, and Tehsildar Bandipora, Sheikh Tariq, were inspecting the construction of a road at Kudara village in Arin panchayat block.
They claimed that during their visit, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather, a JKAP DDC member, allegedly assaulted Tehsildar Bandipora, prompting revenue officials to file a complaint against the DDC member.
According to sources, police have filed FIR No. 107/2021 against the DDC member at Bandipora Police Station under sections 307, 392, and 353 of the Indian Penal Code.
Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Rather, who recently won the DDC election from Arin block, joined the Jammu and Kashmir Apni party.
