Wanted from 15 years, Kishtwar Police arrested another absconder

On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have apprehended another absconder, an ex-militant, who had been evading arrest in the Kishtwar district for the past 15 years.

According to a statement released to the Chenab Times, the Kishtwar Police has apprehended another absconder (ex-militant) who had been evading arrest for the past 15 years.

Ghulam Hassan, son of Lassa Chopan of Pahalgam Sigdi Tehsil of Kishtwar, was wanted in case FIR No. 17/2006 U/Sec 302/364 RPC 4/25 IA Act registered at Police Station Chatroo, according to the statement.

According to the report, reliable sources provided information, and a special police team of PS Chatroo was formed to act quickly on the information.

“Under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Devinder Singh Bandral, a team led by Inspr. Sandeep Singh raided the suspected locations and arrested the absconder,” it reads.
