Officials said a one-year-old boy from a nomad family drowned in Nallah Rambiara, Shopian district, South Kashmir, on Saturday.
They claimed that Aqib, the son of Mohammad Rafeeq, crawled into the river from his family’s tent set up near the water’s edge, according to Kashmir-based news agency GNS.
The boy had drowned by the time his family arrived, and he was taken to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, according to officials.
