Chamba-Thathri Highway: Joint Inspection Conducted by SDM Thathri, GM NHIDCL, to review proposed alignment

Met with a variety of locals and listened to their complaints about the re-alignment.

The Joint team of SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar, GM NHIDCL Mr Nagendra, and SE PWD Nasir Hussain Zargar conducted a field inspection today to review the proposed alignment for the Thathri Chamba highway in response to an issue raised by local residents of Kahara Tehsil during the public grievance redressal camp held at Thathri under the chairmanship of DDC Doda Vikas Sharma.

According to the SDM, the residents of Kahara Tehsil believe that if the highway is extended further along the proposed alignment, the entire township, as well as the market, will be vacated, resulting in widespread unemployment.

The Joint Committee on this account thoroughly inspected spot by spot and assured the locals that a detailed report in this regard would be presented to an expert Committee for a final decision on how to address the grievances without jeopardising the project’s basic components.

The team was accompanied by Tehsildar Kahara Subu Shad and other concerned officials.
