‘Driver, patient escape unhurt; fire brought under control’
On Friday afternoon, a driving ambulance caught fire near Chortheng Mod in the Ajas area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, but the patient and driver were unharmed.
A police official told Kashmir-based news agency Kashmir News Observer that an ambulance transporting a patient from Bandipora to Srinagar caught fire near Ajas when its engine overheated.
The driver of the vehicle and the patient, on the other hand, were unharmed in the incident, he claimed.
According to the official, the fire was put out after fire tenders and a squad of police from Ajas arrived on the scene, and the patient in the ambulance was transferred to another ambulance and taken to Srinagar.
