Kashmir: 2 women among 3 civilians injured in HSHS grenade explosion

SSB bunker was the target, the area was roped off, and searches were conducted by DIG CRPF

On Tuesday, a grenade blast in the Hari Singh High Street neighbourhood of commercial hub Lal Chowk injured at least three civilians, including two ladies.

Official sources told Kashmir-based news agency Kashmir News Observer that suspected militants fired a grenade at the 40th SSB battalion near Hanuman Mandir on Hari Singh High Street.

According to them, two women out of three people were injured and were taken to the SMHS hospital for treatment. “The area has been blocked off in order to apprehend the assailants,” they claimed.

Meanwhile, Kishore Prasad, the DIG CRPF for Central Kashmir, told reporters that militants targeted the SSB party with the grenade that burst on the road. “There have been minor injuries to two to three persons. He said the area had been cordoned off and that searches were underway.
