An accused cop has been arrested; Investigation on: SSP Kathua
In the Kathua area of Jammu and Kashmir, a police policeman was slain by his colleague late on Wednesday night after the two got into a fight about some problem.
“A police constable identified as Mohammad Younis of Reasi killed when his colleague Constable Iqbal Singh of Hiranagar fired at him after a quarrel,” reliable sources said. Singh shot his colleague four to five times, killing him instantly.”
After returning to their barracks after duty in District Police Line Kathua, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua Ramesh Kotwal reported to news agency KNO that the two cops had hot words over some reason.
“In a fit of rage, one of them fired an official Ak-47 weapon at another, killing the other on the spot,” he added.
The accused cop was eventually overpowered and arrested.
SSP stated, “We are looking into the problem.”
