A two-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed in a grenade attack on the residence of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Mandal President in Rajouri town on Friday, while six others injured in the attack are being treated.
Two of the injured have been evacuated to an Army hospital for specialised treatment, according to officials.
A grenade blast occurred on Thursday evening about 9:30 p.m., which is noteworthy. Officials reported that unidentified attackers threw a grenade into the home of BJP Mandal President Rajouri, Jasbir Singh, injuring seven members of his family, including a small kid identified as old Veer Singh, son of Balbir Singh, who died as a result of his injuries.
BJP Mandal President Rajouri Jasbir Singh, his brother Balbir Singh, father Romesh Singh, mother Sia Devi, and nephews Arjun Singh and Karan Singh are among the other six injured.
According to them, two of the injured, BJP leader Jasbir Singh and his mother Sia Devi, were referred to Army hospital from Rajouri hospital and flown.
Meanwhile, the town of Rajouri was shut down on Friday, with the majority of businesses remaining shuttered and residents holding a protest demonstration against the tragedy.
A large crowd gathered at the Khandli bridge in Rajouri town and began a protest march.
