India, Pakistan should sit together to resolve outstanding issues: Taliban

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in his first comments on Kashmir that Pakistan and India should sit down together to discuss all pending issues because they are neighbours and their interests are intertwined. During a wide-ranging interview with Pakistani TV channel ARY News, Mujahid made the remarks.

According to ARY News, Zabihullah stated New Delhi needs to have a “friendly approach toward the disputed area” when it comes to Jammu and Kashmir.

Mujahid expressed the Taliban’s desire for good relations with all nations, including India, which is an important component of the area, when asked about relations with India.

“It is our wish that India formulates its policy in the interests of the Afghan people,” he continued.

The Taliban will not allow Afghan soil to be used against any other country, he stated emphatically.

According to ARY News, he believes Pakistan and India should sit down together to discuss any lingering issues because they are neighbours and their interests are intertwined.

Mujahid said on Wednesday that the organisation that currently administers Afghanistan views Pakistan as a second home and will not allow any operation on Afghan land that is detrimental to Pakistan’s interests.
