On Thursday, a soldier was apprehended at Srinagar International Airport when a live round was found in his baggage.
According to official sources, one live INSAS rifle round was discovered in the baggage of a soldier during screening at the Srinagar International Airport’s drop gate. The soldier was immediately detained for questioning.
Officials named the soldier as HC Sham Lal, son of Channi Lal, of Akhnoor, Jammu, who is now assigned to the 79 Brigade in Baramulla.
The trooper has been handed over to police post Humhama, according to a police official, and an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
