An encounter in the Khagund Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday resulted in the death of a militant and the injury of a police officer.
According to news agency GNS, police went to pick up an OGW based on specific information. As soon as the police party approached the suspected location, the concealed militant opened fire, resulting in a skirmish.
One unidentified militant was killed during the exchange of fire, according to the police officer, who also got a bullet wound. For treatment, he was sent to a local hospital.
Meanwhile, a pistol and a grenade were recovered from the slain militant’s possession.
