Kishtwar Police foiled a terror plot, one person arrested with a hand grenade.
Based on the inputs about inimical elements planning to cause disturbance through handlers to carry out a grenade blast in Kishtwar district.
As per statement issued to Chenab Times, a Joint Naka was established by a team of Kishtwar Police, Army 26 RR and CRPF 52 Bn personnel at Drabshalla Thathri at 1730 hours. During the search for vehicles and passengers, the Naka party noticed a suspicious movement of one person who was trying to evade checking and frisking. However, alert Jawans of the Naka party immediately overpowered him and, on frisking/personal search, one hand grenade was recovered from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Sohail Ahmed Bhat son of Noor Mohd Bhat resident of Bathri Gandoh District Doda.
In this regard, FIR No.235/2021 comes into play. Under relevant sections of the law, a complaint has been registered at PS Kishtwar and further investigation has been taken up.
