Pahari Cause: 15-member “Legal Advisory Group” formed by lawyers from Chenab Valley

Pahari Core committee of Chenab Valley (Erstwhile Doda) formed “Legal advisory group” consisting of the different legal lumaniries which include Advocate Nazim Qazi, Advocate Ahtsham Bhat, Advocate Nisar Gattu, Advocate Anu Kotwal, Advocate Ajay Manhas, Advocate AR Mushtaq, Advocate Partap, Advocate SA Wani, Adv BA Rounyal, Adv MM Lone, Adv Sarfaraz Nawaz Gani, Adv. Asif Rounyal, Adv. Balbir Singh Bali, Adv K S Sumboria, Adv Karnail Singh Bali who have extended their support for the cause of Pahari for Chenab Valley owing to its prevalent Pahari literature and historical evidences. 

The Pahari core committee, under the chairmanship of Abdul Majeed Bichoo, announced the names of the senior advocates and inducted them into the committee.

Welcoming the new members Advocate Nazim Qazi, Advocate Ahtsham Bhat, Advocate Nisar Gattu, Advocate Anu Kotwal, Advocate Ajay Manhas, Advocate AR Mushtaq, Advocate Partap, Advocate SA Wani, Adv BA Rounyal, Adv MM Lone, Adv Sarfaraz Nawaz Gani, Adv. Asif Rounyal, Adv Balbir Singh Bali, Adv K S Sumboria, Adv Karnail Singh Bali. 

A M Bichoo stated that they will add a colourful feather to the movement’s cap. What our four fathers have left for us is something we are enjoying, but what we have to generate for our coming generations is our responsibility. For this purpose, selfless personalities and intellectuals must come forward without thinking about what they get but to extend their helping hand as to what they can contribute, Bichoo added. 

No matter that at present we are demanding this status for Bhadarwahi, Bhelessi, Sarazi, Pogli, and Padri, we have to open so many hidden windows like Dessa, Marwah, Warwan Dachhan Sazari, etc., which need the support of all sections of society.

Sadaket Malik, founder/President of the movement said that the Pahari core committee is busy in revival of the grammer and literature and has got a good response from the government as is evident from the approval letter headed by LG Manoj Sinha for creation of seprate sections in JKCAAL stands achieved. A lot more needs to be done, like reservation, and the development of Pahari books, and other schemes meant for people with ethnic relevance, said Dr. Ravi Parihar, a Sarazi researcher. 

Ashraf Katoch, General Secretary of the Pahari Core Committee, while welcoming the group of advocates, said that the Pahari Core Committee consists of 150 members, of which 60 executive members are contributing to the cause, and hoped that the newly inducted members will help in legal affairs of the cause initiated by the committee. 

Other members who welcomed the legal personalities include Abdul Khaliq Retd ZEO, Manzoor Katoch, Muzaffar Katoch, Jugesh Thakur, Meenakshi Thakur, Dr Javed Katoch , Manzoor Katoch, Arshad Ahmed, Navrattan Singh, Ghulam Mohd Gamgeen, Haroon Katoch, Muzaffar Katoch, Gulzabair Daing, Jugesh Thakur, Abdul Latief Bulbul, Sadeeq Sarazi, Jagdish Raj, Shouiab Runyal, Naveed Anjum,Javed Iqbal ,Nawaz Katoch and Rayees Bali.
