Doda Police has initiated a huge hunt against narcotics peddling in the district, as part of its attempts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and take rigorous action against drug peddlers.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that under operation “SANJEEVANI”, today during the routine naka checking at Phagsoo Morh Thathri, Police Party of Police Station Thathri led by PSI Amandeep Singh apprehended a person namely Mohd Iqbal S/O Mohd Din R/O Nagari Doda and recovered 3 kg Narcotic Substance (Poppy Straw) from his possession, which he was carrying in bag with him for selling purpose in general areas of Thathri.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 22/2022 has been filed at Police Station Thathri under Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act, and an investigation has begun.
The recovery of Narcotic Substance (Poppy Straw) was made under the supervision of Insp Amrit Katoch SHO PS Thathri and Meer Gafoor JKPS SDPO Bhaderwah
SSP Doda appealed to the people of District Doda to help the police by providing information about drug trafficking so that the criminals can be brought to justice.
He also urged general public to look after their children and seek counselling so that they do not become victims of drug misuse.
