As schools up to Standard X reopened across Karnataka on Monday, numerous institutions made it plain to Muslim girls that they must remove their hijab in order to attend classes. According to reports from a variety of sources, Muslim students were refused access to school if they did not remove their hijab.
Teachers at the Rotary Educational Society School in Mandya compelled students to remove their hijab before entering the school. Before entering the building, many instructors and staff members were required to remove their hijab or burqa. Many parents demanded that teachers allow their children to enter their classrooms before removing the hijab.
At the government-run Sardar High School in Belagavi, Muslim girls were requested to remove their burqas and hijab at the school gate, in a similar situation.
