Doda Police has initiated a huge hunt against narcotics peddling in the district, as part of its attempts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and take rigorous action against drug peddlers.
According to police, under the “SANJEEVANI” operation, one person, Jatiner Singh S/O Preme Singh R/O Dhossa Tehsil Gandoh, who is selling Narcotic drugs to youngsters in the general region of Gandoh unlawfully carrying some Narcotic drugs with him for selling purposes was arrested today.
In the presence of Executive magistrate 1st class Gandoh, a police party led by SHO Police Station Gandoh Vikram Singh and PSI Anil Kumar Incharge Police Post Changa, under the supervision of Supervision Incharge Addl.SP Bhaderwah Raj Kumar JKPS, arrested the said person and recovered 98 g of narcotic substance (cannabis).
In this regard, a case FIR No. 09/2022 has been filed at PS Gandoh under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act, and an investigation has begun.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom stated that Doda Police is committed to eradicating the drug menace from the district, and that all possible measures are being made to do so. He urged the people of District Doda to work with the police by providing information about drug trafficking so that the criminals might be brought to justice.
