According to authorities, a huge bomb exploded inside a Shiite Muslim mosque in Pakistan’s northern city of Peshawar on Friday, killing over 30 worshippers and injuring dozens more, several of whom were badly injured.
Worshippers were gathered for Friday prayers at the Kucha Risaldar mosque in Peshawar’s old centre when the bomb occurred.
Ambulances hurried through the packed streets, transporting the injured to Lady Reading Hospital, where physicians laboured tirelessly. No one claimed responsibility right away.
