In another development, to curb the abuse of drugs in the area under operation Sanjeevani, Doda police have arrested a notorious drug peddler from Bhaderwah Town.
In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, Doda Police said that on 11-03-2022, it was learnt through a reliable source that one Amjad Hussain, son of Mohd Hussain Bhat, resident of Chinar Mohalla Bhaderwah, was going towards Bhaderwah town from the Chinta area and was in possession of a narcotic substance (Charas).
A police team from Police Post Bhalra headed by PSI Bupinder Sharma IC PP Bhalra swung into action and apprehended the accused person near Kapra Bridge. While conducting his search, 370 gms of charas were recovered from his possession, the statement reads.
In this connection, a case FIR No.29/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and an investigation into the case has been started.
The forward and backward links of the accused person are being ascertained during the investigation to unearth the source of the supplier.
The recovery of Charas was made from the possession of the accused person in the presence of Executive Magistrate Class 1st Bhalra (Bhaderwah) by the police party led by IC PP Bhalra PSI Bupinder Sharma under the supervision of Abdul Ghafoor, SDPO Bhaderwah, and overall supervision of Mohd Aftab Mir, Addl. SP Bhaderwah.
