A man was arrested with a stolen 63 KV PDD transformer in the Gandoh Bhalessa area of Doda district.
In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, Doda Police said that an information was received at Police Post Changa on Wednesday from one Liyakat Ali, S/O Gh Rasool Rather, R/O Changa Tehsil Gandoh, who is a lineman of the PDD department and presently posted in Soti Changa, stating that a 63 KV transformer from village Dugan Soti was lying on the road which was to be sent to the workshop Kishtwar for repair, and during the intervening night of 15/16/03-2022, some unknown person had stolen the 63 KV transformer from there.
Acting swiftly after getting this information, a police party led by SHO PS Gandoh Vikram Singh recovered the said 63 KV transformer from Tawai Changa loaded in a Mahindra Camper Load Carrier bearing registration No. JK14H/2386 driven by the owner, namely Ghulam Hussain S/O Din Mohd R/O Thaloran Gandoh A/P Chopra Shop, Udhampur, who was arrested on spot with the stolen property.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 14/2022 U/S 379 IPC stands registered at Police Station Gandoh and an investigation has been taken up.
The statement reads that the recovery of stolen property and the arrest of the accused were made under the supervision of Shahzada Kabir Matto, SDPO Gandoh.
