Youth uploads selfie before jumping into River Chenab in Doda’s Thathri

A 24-year-old youth committed suicide by jumping into river Chenab at Old Thathri-Barshalla Bridge in Thathri town of Doda district on Thursday.

Initial reports reaching The Chenab Times said that the boy put off his U-shaped headphones, a cap, a wallet, a phone and a notebook on the bridge and jumped into the Chenab River. The Chenab Times also received a selfie of the youth before jumping into the Chenab River.

According to Chenab Times, the young man was identified as Inderjeet Singh, the son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Bhalwana Thathri.

Inderjeet updated a WhatsApp status before jumping into the river, which reads, “Vo S**** Ranjeet arayna ha uski vaja sa ma apni jaan daaa RHA hu aj aur kise ki koi galti nhi ha police valo sa guzarish ha mari sirf ranjeet aryan isko nhi shodna Dubai ma hota ha wo.” This text is transcribed as,” I am ending my life only because of Ranjeet Aryan, and there is no one’s mistake. Police are requested not to leave Ranjit Aryan, who is in Dubai. “

During the initial inquiry, police told the Chenab Times that the youth’s notebook also had some debt details, which seems to be a case of depression. “A case under relevant sections has been filed and an investigation is on,” they added.
