In the unexpected wave of AAP in Jammu and Kashmir, the majority of the people have the only disagreement with the AAP that its supremo, Arvind Kejriwal, has voted in favour of the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A. While regional parties are pointing this out, it begs the question of whether the AAP can be in favour of Article 370 and 35-A while remaining opposed to it.
In a Facebook post, Mehraj Malik, an AAP leader from Jammu and Kashmir, expressed AAP’s opinion on 370 and 35-A, which were in Urdu and Hindi, and now The Chenab Times has translated it into English below.
“Our opinion on 370 and 35-A
- For many days, questions have been circulating on social media from NC, PDP, and INC about our position on 370 and 35A. I want to tell people that AAP can neither deceive the people of Jammu and Kashmir nor keep them in deception.
- We don’t want to mislead people by showing a movie like Kashmir File or doing Hindu-Muslim politics.
- We are currently facing many of the challenges of a small state. We have to start development work by restoring our statehood first.
- We will not inflame Kashmiri politics on Pakistan.
- These political parties did politics for 75 years, misled the people, made billions, looted the common man, but still could not save 370/35. And now they are joining the BJP to avoid allegations of corruption.
- Do you want your future generations to spend the next century in that political climate?
- These parties will make your situation the same again.
- These parties want to play with your emotions.
- Kashmir needs the same thing as the rest of India needs.
- The people of Jammu and Kashmir are not heavenly angels. Another kind of politics is needed here!
- It is said that politics here is something else. They speak because they have misled you in politics and changed your mind.
- We have come into politics for the welfare of the people.
- Our first position is to determine how we will address the problems that the common man has faced for the past 75 years.
- At present, 370/35A is a central government issue. Ask the central government and the old parties…
Our main challenges:
- Improving the poor condition of government schools in rural and urban areas will be our top priority.
- Unemployment is the biggest problem that we are facing.
- We have the issue of treatment in the village hospital and the power crisis of the people in front of us.
- We have the problem of thousands of daily wagers. And there are many problems.
Finally, the two things that are left in the issue of Article 370, which are jobs and land, will be fully protected by us. Apart from IAS in the state, the party will also take a tough stand on other employees brought from outside the state.
The rest of these parties have hollowed out the state for 75 years. Our job is to meet the basic needs of the people first.
Yes, we will be accountable for 370 similar questions if AAP is in power in the state as well as in the centre.“
