Chenab-based indigenous languages writers and social activists welcomed the induction of Bharat Singh KAS as Secretary of JKAACL

The Chenab-based Writers, Social and Cultural Activists have welcomed the induction of Bharat Singh as the new Secretary of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. The wide range of people from literature and language activists, headed by Sadaket Ali Malik, President of the Pahari core committee of Bhalesi, Bhaderwahi, and Padri Sarazi Pogli, has welcomed her induction as Secretary of the academy. 

Speaking to The Chenab Times, Sadaket Malik said that native speakers of the Chenab valley will welcome his induction as it will pave the way for popularisation of the local dialects and will in turn help in recognition of these languages, development of the same and the creation of separate sections in the Cultural Academy. Those who spoke include A M Bichoo, MA Katoch, Ashraf Katoch, Ali Mohd Serazi, Jagdish Sarazi, Fozia Mughal, Som Raj, Joginder Singh, Bharat Bhushan, and many others. 

Pertinent to mention, The Chenab Times is the first news organisation of Jammu and Kashmir which broadcast video news in Bhaderwah and Sarazi languages of Chenab region with an aim to promote and preserve these endangered languages.
