Congress politician and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead today in Mansa district. The gunfire also resulted in the injuries of two additional people. Mr Moose Wala was among the 424 people whose protection had been withdrawn by Punjab the day before the tragedy. As part of the Bhagwant Mann government’s effort to combat VIP culture, the security cover was revoked.
Mr Moose Wala and two of his friends were driving in a jeep to the village of Jawahar Ke in Punjab when they were attacked.
