Even after the Centre offered many incentives, protests against the Agnipath project remained in several regions of the country. With the government standing firm on the disputed ‘Agnipath’ scheme for short-term military recruiting, the three military services released a wide timetable of enrolling under the new policy on Sunday, warning that anyone who engage in violence or arson will not be enrolled.
As the news revealed on The Chenab Times after the AAP leader Mehraj Malik placed under house arrest amid Bharat Bandh call during ongoing Agnipath protests across India. Another AAP leader Rashid Choudhary from Doda’s Bhaderwah was also placed under house arrest today.
Rashid Choudhary who is the Sangathan Mantri of AAP for Bhaderwah constituency revealed to The Chenab Times that two leaders including himself has been placed under house arrest amid Agnipath protests.
The house detention of AAP leaders rose many questions regarding selective detention of AAP leaders, however it remained clearly unanswered.
