To finalise the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shri Sarthal Devi Yatra falling on July 7th and 8th, 2022, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar Sham Lal today convened a meeting of all the concerned district officers and members of the Shri Sarthal Devi Management Council here at the conference hall of DC office complex in Kishtwar.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Bhatt, ACR Kishtwar, Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Kishtwar, Pramood Kumar, ARTO Kishtwar, I/C CEO Municipal Council Kishtwar, besides concerned officers and representatives of Shri Sarthal Devi Management Council, remained present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the members of the Sri Sarthal Devi Management Council apprised the ADDC Kishtwar that the Yatra will proceed from Gouri Shankar Mandir Sarkoot on July 7th, 2022, in the afternoon towards Sarthal Shrine, and the Holy Chhari will be received by the priest in the temple in the evening. The hawan will be completed in the temple grounds on July 8, and the yatra will return to Kishtwar on the same day.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar directed the concerned departments to ensure all basic facilities at Gouri Shankar Mandir Sarkoot, the shrine and enroute likewise availability of uninterrupted drinking water, availability of medical facilities, ambulance, toilet facilities for pilgrims, improve the light system around the temple, maintenance and repair of Sarthal road Cleanliness besides sufficient number of vehicles for transportation of devotees.
Regarding the security arrangements and availability of fire tenders, SSP Kishtwar assured that foolproof security arrangements have been placed in place for the smooth and safe conduct of the Yatra.
During the meeting, the Xen, JPDCL was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Sakroot Mandir and Sarthal Devi ji Bhawan during Yatra time.
XEn PHE was directed to ensure continuous water supply at Bhawan as well as water tanker service during the Yatra.
Furthermore, the municipal and KDA authorities were instructed to make high mast lights functional at appropriate places at Gouri Shanker Mandir and in the streets of Kishtwar for effective security of Yatries.
Regarding the sanitation and cleanliness during the Yatra, DPO Kishtwar was instructed to ensure the installation of temporary toilets at the Sri Sarthal Devi Ji Bhawan well before the commencement of the Yatra.
Incharge CEO Municipality was directed to ensure the sanitation and cleanliness in and around the Gouri Shanker Mandir Kishtwar, besides ensuring lime-lining of lanes and drains from the bus stand to the Gouri Shanker Mandir Kishtwar.
Furthermore, ACD Kishtwar was instructed to ensure cleanliness at the Sarthal Devi ji Bhawan and install the dust bins at the shrine.
Directions were given to Tehsildar Kishtwar and BDO Trigam for laying special stress on the strict imposition of a ban on the use of single-use polythene bags in the shrine area in particular and in the district of Kishtwar in general.
ARTO Kishtwar assured the meeting that sufficient vehicles have been put on stand-by for hassle-free movement of pilgrims during the Yatra.
The ADDC requested that all officers from the line departments work together to ensure the smooth running of the Yatra and full facilities for the devotees.
