The Lake County Sheriff of Illinois, US, said, “We are aiding Highland Park Police for the same. Shooting in the vicinity of the Independence Day parade route.”
Witnesses are saying the Highland Park gunman was on a roof and had a semiautomatic rifle. One doctor said, “I did CPR on a 9-year-old until the paramedics pushed me off. This was a mass casualty zone. “Multiple persons were shot at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois, according to an official,” the New York Post reported.
“Rep. Bob Morgan of Illinois tweeted on Monday that there were numerous injuries at the parade while he was there.
People can be seen escaping the sound of gunfire in a video taken by an apparent witness. JB Pritzker, the governor of Illinois, declared that he was “closely watching the situation” and that he had made the community fully aware of all state resources.
