Fareeda Begum, the mother of Udaan correspondent Arif Malik, passed away on Thursday. She was 42.
According to her family, Begum was admitted to GMC Jammu. They added that she passes away today after prolonged illness there.
The deceased was maternal aunt of Kashmir Uzma correspondent Ishtyak Malik.
The funeral prayers to the departed soul, as per her family, will be held at her native village Hanoo Jakyas of Doda district tonight.
