A zonal level essay writing, singing and debate competitions were organised at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Thathri under the aegis of nation wide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme.
As per information available with The Chenab Times, the Indian government chose to honour India’s freedom fighters and mark the country’s 75th anniversary of independence. As a result, they decided to organise a number of events, and the government gave the celebration the name “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. On March 12, 2021, the official Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav journey began, beginning the 75-week countdown to the nation’s 75th anniversary of independence. The same day is being celebrated locally in each of India’s states and cities.
Today’s programme was organised at GGHSS Thathri in which the chief guest was Tehsildar Thathri Sahil Randhawa, while Principal GGHSS Thathri B.D Sharma, ZEO Thathri Amjad Hussain and incharge principals, headmasters of various schools, and different cultural incharges of various institutions took part in this programme.
According to a press release issued to The Chenab Times, a girl from Government Higher Secondary School Jangalwar topped the debate while a girl from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Thathri was the runner-up. In the singing category, a class 12th girl student from GGHSS Thathri topped, while in the essay writing competition, a girl student from GGHSS Thathri topped, followed by the runner-up from the same school.
In the concluding session, the chief guest, Tehsildar Thathri Sahil Randhawa, appreciated the students who took part in it and distributed trophies among the students. In his address, he discussed the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the code of the national flag.
He also appreciated the hard work of principal GGHSS Thathri and his staff members for organising such a colourful programme in this institution.
While the vote of thanks was presented by Principal GGHSS Thathri and urged the cultural incharges of various institutions to explore the hidden talent of students from the far-flung areas of their zone.
