3rd District Taekwondo Championship begins in Baramulla

The third District Taekwondo Championship began today at the JKSC Indoor Sports Complex in Khwajabagh, Baramulla, under the supervision of Adv Neelofar Masood (President), District Baramulla Taekwondo Association.

The Championship is being organised by Baramulla Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA). The much-anticipated premier Taekwondo championships were held today for every athlete in District Baramulla, and the young kids were enthralled by the event. Many senior coaches and athletes also took part in glorifying the championship.

This championship is the only one of its kind where players have a chance to have an international level of exposure during the play. The playoff ceremony was observed by the players, officials, and parents as well. The competition is comprised of all age divisions with the inclusion of the youngest age division (Pee Wee).

The first day featured a massive combative skills display between the Sub-Junior and Junior Athletes, with the Cadet and Senior Athletes to be showcased on September 19th, 2022.

The Championships started with the demonstration of Taekwondo skills by young boys and girls from different clubs/institutions.

The Chief Guest of the opening ceremony was Ms. Nuzhat Gul (Secretary, J&K Sports Council).

While speaking on the auspicious occasion, Gul congratulated all the participants and organisers for organising such a great District Champ. She began the opening marches of both male and female athletes and promised all possible assistance in promoting the Taekwondo sport throughout the entire District of Baramulla.

She also urged all players to stay fit and healthy in order to achieve fruitful results in competitions, and she urged all players to be cautious of the drug threat.

Special Guests on the occasion were Shri. Majeed Ah (Manager, JKSC Baramulla), Nissar Hussain (Vice President, JKTA), Dr. Khalid Mehraj (Patron District Baramulla Taekwondo Association), Shri Rameez Mehraj (Secretary, BTA) and Shri. Showkat Ahmad ( Incharge, Indoor Stadium Baramulla). 

Adv. Neelofar Masood, along with the other dignitaries, presented the Chief Guest momento to the Secretary of Sports Council, Ms. Nuzhat Gul Mam, for graceing the occasion with her graceful presence.
