Minor boy killed, 3 others injured in Kishtwar’s Kuligad Drabshalla mishap

In a heart-wrenching incident, a seven-year-old boy lost his life while various others were injured in a tragic accident near Kuligad Drabshalla area of Kishtwar district on Friday evening.

As per live broadcast by The Chenab Times, a truck bearing registration number JK02BU 7177 lost control near the tunnel and hit a Baleno car bearing registration number JK17 9661, which skidded off the road but hung on a sliding area. After hitting the car, the truck somehow controlled the movement, but after nearly 100 metres from the collision, the truck fell into the gorge from Kuligad bridge in Drabshalla.

In the presence of J&K Police, Army, and Ababeel, about two people from the car were rescued immediately and taken to Kishtwar Hospital, but the truck driver was stuck inside and his leg was pressed. After an hour-long rescue, the truck driver was rescued by the locals and taken to AH GMC Doda, but unfortunately, his seven-year-old son died inside the truck.

The details of the deceased and injured truck include 40-year-old Bhupinder Singh, son of Manohar Lal, resident of Balasoo Tehsil and District Doda, who was the truck driver, a police official told The Chenab Times. While his son, 7-year-old Ayush Manhas, son of Bhupinder Singh, lost his life. The car was driven by Rajesh Sharma, son of Hari Krishan Sharma, resident of Bus Stand Kishtwar, and Tarun Gupta, son of Radhey Sham Gupta, resident of Shakti Nagar, Kishtwar, was with him. Both were taken to Kishtwar Hospital.
