On Monday at 10.30 AM, Justice Dipankar Dutta took his oath to serve as a Supreme Court judge. Justice Dutta was sworn in in front of all judges at Court No. 1 of the Supreme Court. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud performed the oath-taking.
The former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court was elevated to the Supreme Court yesterday, almost three months after the collegium of the Supreme Court recommended it.
In the resolution passed on September 26, the Supreme Court collegium, which was headed by the then Chief Justice UU Lalit, had recommended the recommendation of Justice Dutta.
