The Rajouri incident, in which six people including two minors lost their lives and several others were injured, has sparked condemnation from various political and religious leaders in the Chenab Valley region.
Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed, condemned the attack and referenced a verse in the Quran which states that killing an innocent is equivalent to killing all of humanity, according to reports reached The Chenab Times.
President of the Markazi Seerat Committee in Doda, Khalid Najib Suharwardy, also condemned the attack and called for a bandh (strike) on 3 January in Doda to show solidarity and protest against the incident.
The Sanatan Dharm Sabha in Kishtwar also called for a bandh on 3 January in Kishtwar to protest the attack.
President Beopar Mandal Thathri, Parvez Kichloo, also condemned the attack and called for a bandh on 3 January in Thathri.
Speaking to The Chenab Times many political activists, including DDC Thathri, Sandeep Manhas, also condemned the attack and thanked religious organizations for standing for unity.
BJP youth leader Mannu Sharma condemned the “brutal” killing of civilians in Rajouri.
These statements show the strong sense of outrage and disgust towards the attack and the desire for justice and unity among the people of the Chenab Valley region. It is important for all leaders to speak out against such acts of violence and to work towards creating a peaceful and harmonious society.
