Indian Taekwondo Team Athlete and Fit India Movement Ambassador, Danish Manzoor, visited Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Friday. Accompanied by his coach, Atul Pangotra, Manzoor expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support and assistance provided to the sportspersons of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement to the The Chenab Times after the meeting, Danish Manzoor expressed his gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his unwavering support for sports in the region. He said, “I am grateful to the Lieutenant Governor for his continued support and encouragement for athletes in Jammu and Kashmir. His efforts have helped to create a better environment for sports and given us the resources we need to perform at the highest level.”
Manzoor also spoke about his experience as a Fit India Movement Ambassador and the importance of staying active and healthy. He said, “As a Fit India Movement Ambassador, I have had the opportunity to inspire people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and incorporate physical activity into their daily routine. I believe that sports can play a critical role in promoting good health and wellbeing, and I am committed to using my platform to encourage more people to get active and participate in sports.”
During the meeting, Manzoor highlighted the need for continued government support to promote sports in the region and enhance the infrastructure for athletes. His coach, Atul Pangotra, also spoke about the importance of government support for sports in the region. He said, “We are grateful for the support provided by the government, which has helped us to create a strong infrastructure for sports and given our athletes the resources they need to succeed. With continued support, we can create a better environment for sports and produce more world-class athletes like Danish.”
After meeting with Manzoor, Abhishek Jamwal, an International Wushu Player, also called on the Lieutenant Governor. The meeting was part of Sinha’s efforts to meet with prominent athletes and sports personalities to understand their needs and promote the development of sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
