The district police have successfully nabbed an accomplice of the notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria on Saturday. The arrestee has been identified as Vishal Verma, also known as Shalu, hailing from Hoshiarpur. The police have also seized nine pistols and 20 live cartridges from him.
According to Ropar SSP Vivek Sheel Soni, Verma was planning to carry out a massive crime using the weapons seized. The gang that he is associated with has a history of smuggling weapons and drugs across the state.
A team of police officers, including SP (Investigation) Manvinderbir Singh, DSP (Investigation) Talwinder Singh, and CIA in-charge Inspector Satnam Singh, conducted an operation to nab the accused on the Ropar bypass.
The accused will be produced in court, and the police are expected to obtain a remand. SSP Soni stated that there could be some significant revelations in this case.
The police are committed to bringing the notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and his associates to justice and will leave no stone unturned in their efforts.
